The Retreat is located off Route 315, north of Powell Road, near the Olentangy River, with ravines and old growth trees on many lots. Our community has a lovely blend of park-like space, an easy commuting distance to Columbus, Ohio and the highway system, and great neighbors.
The first homes in The Retreat were built in the 1970’s. Many homes have been added over the years, with some construction continuing today. Residents enjoy the larger lots, the many trees and ravines, and the quiet neighborhood, well-suited for walking. Many of us enjoy the deer that wander freely through our landscapes; others of us are happy to find plants that they do not like to eat.
The
City of Powell was ranked by Money Magazine as one of the best places to live in 2017.
Our children attend the
Olentangy Local School District. The Olentangy Local School District currently has more than 22,500 students enrolled – and is among the fastest-growing districts in the country. Today, the district includes four high schools, five middle schools, 16 elementary schools and a preschool program. Students in
The Retreat attend Wyandot Run Elementary School, Liberty Middle School, and Olentangy High School.
We are governed by an 11 member Board of Trustees. The Board meets every other month. Trustee elections are held annually, with about 1/3 of the board changing each year. Board members serve renewable three year terms.
